Lee Knutsen

Lee Knutsen, 84, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at UnityPoint Health in Marshalltown.

Lee Knutsen was born on May 6, 1939 in Mount Vernon, Iowa to Hans and Till Knutsen. He was united in marriage to June Walters on May 20, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lee was trained as a Green Beret and served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1963 until 1967. Lee had previously owned and worked for The Farm Center in Conrad and was the founder of AAA Septic and Advance Garage Doors in Marshalltown. Lee was truly an entrepreneur and loved the challenges that his work provided. In addition to being an avid worker, he enjoyed doing “quality control” for Advance Garage Doors. 

Lee is survived by his wife of 57 years, June. Children: Peggy (Dennis) Heldenbrand and Randy (Pam) Lansing; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother: Gary Knutsen; and one nephew.

Lee is preceded in death by his son: Jerry Lansing and parents: Hans and Till.
