Lee was born September 4, 1937 near Van Horn, Iowa, the only child of Ival and Myrtle (Johnson) Schulze. After graduating from Vinton High School, he went on to obtain his degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Chicago. In 1958, he was united in marriage to Karren Berry and to this union, they were blessed with two children.

A talented cake decorator, Lee was owner and operator of Lee’s Bakery in Vinton, Iowa. Later he owned Crew Lanes in Marshalltown and Capri Lanes in Tama.

For the last 27 years, he shared his life with his beloved, Pamela “Pam” (Northcott) Miras. They were united in marriage in December 2022. Together they enjoyed ballroom dancing, rock ‘n roll, big band music and going to the casino. Lee was an avid Iowa State fan, and especially enjoyed watching football and basketball. More than anything, Lee loved taking in the beauty and nature of his home right on Union Grove Lake. He especially enjoyed its peace and serenity until his final days.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Pam; his children: Bradford “Brad” (Deanna) Schulze of Indianola, IA and Valerie (Ervin) VanWyk of Pella, IA; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In eternal life, Lee is reunited with his parents, Ival and Myrtle.
