Leland Wiseman

Leland Wiseman, 90, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, April 22, 2019 at Grandview Heights Rehab and Healthcare in Marshalltown, IA. A celebration of life visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 27 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor John Witmer officiating. A private burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery and then all are invited to join the family for a luncheon and time of fellowship in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a memorial for the First Church of the Nazarene. Leland was born September 18, 1928 in Grundy Center, IA and lived most of his life in Conrad, IA where he graduated from High School in 1947. He married Delores Darlene Dunham on July 18, 1948 in Montour, IA. Leland started his own trucking firm shortly after graduating from high school. After 14 years in the trucking business, Leland started his 30 year career at Ritchie Industries. His initial role was as a plant foreman but was quickly promoted to Head of Purchasing, VP of Manufacturing, and finally the Executive Vice President. After leaving Ritchie’s, Leland started his own consulting business; writing resumes, overseeing the day-to-day building of St. Henry Church and consulting for Ideal Industries. Leland was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Leland was also an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed fishing, camping and bicycling. Leland will be missed by his children:  Michael (Ravonna) Wiseman, Mark (Nancy) Wiseman, Kristine (Mrs. Bill) Lee and Andy (Gina) Wiseman; special friend Charlene Mayer; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Delores; his parents Edgar and Henrietta Wiseman; as well as sister, Patty Coulter.
