Leo Kroeger, 84, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at Grandview Heights. Memorial services for Leo will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016, at the Peace United Church of Christ with Rev. Robert Doner officiating. There will be no visitation prior to services. Following the memorial service, Leo will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Gladbrook. Memorial contributions may be directed in Leos name to his family. Leo Kroeger was born on March 14, 1932, in Gladbrook, Iowa, the son of Rudolph and Esther (Wilken) Kroeger. He was raised and educated in the Gladbrook School District, graduating from Gladbrook High School. Following high school, Leo enlisted in the United States Army, where he honorably served his Country. On January 16, 1955, Leo was united in marriage Marilyn Martens at the Peace United Church of Christ in Gladbrook. He owned and operated Kroeger Farm Center for many years. Leo had a passion for birds, gardening, taking care of his lawn, cats, collecting tractors and being together with family and friends. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Marilyn; children: Kathy (Paul Steinhoff) Kroeger and Kent Kroeger; grandchildren: Kari and Kristen. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Faye Ladehoff, Paulene Sonkens; brothers: Kenneth, Lloyd Doc, Earl.
