Leonard Templeton , 87, of Southridge Nursing and Rehab Center passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. The family will have a private burial at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. Templeton was born on October 20, 1926, in Marshalltown, Iowa; he was the son of Leonard D. and Pearl (Large) Templeton. Leonard attended school in the Marshalltown Community School District. Leonard served our County Honorably in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1946 an then joined the United States Army from 1946 until his retirement in 1966, after his retirement Leonard enjoyed fishing and baseball. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Steve(Ruth) Templeton of Osceola, Iowa, Chuck (Linda) Templeton of Newton, Iowa, Rock(Georgie) Templeton and Carol Herrald of Marshalltown, Iowa and Jackie Hobbs of Grundy Center, Iowa, as well as 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In death Leonard rejoins his parents, Leonard and Pearl, Brother, Cady Templeton. Sisters: Gretchen Determan and June Templeton.
