Lila Hall

Lila Hall, 81, of Marshalltown and formerly of Madrid, Iowa passed away on the morning of April 9, 2020 in the comfort of her own home. At this time cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. Memorial’s in Lila’s name may be directed to her family for a later designation. Lila Lee Lincoln was born June 2, 1938 to parents Don and Ruby (Hivley) Lincoln in Boone, Iowa. She was one of three children born to her family. Lila attended school in Madrid, Iowa where she would later graduate high school. Lila was united in marriage to her husband Vernard Hall. The two began a family of their own having and raising four children. The two called Madrid, Iowa their home. Lila worked not only as a mother to her family but she worked at Gates Rubber Company for many years. Lila resided in Madrid and Boone for the majority of her life until moving to Marshalltown for a brief period of time in her later years. In her free time, she loved spending time with her family reading a good book and enjoying her coffee, chocolate, wine, and occasional trips to Meskwaki to play the slots. Left to remember and cherish her memory are her children Cheryl Speck, Valerie (Brad) Busse, Steve (Tracy) Hall, and Kathy (Tim) Gerken; her grandchildren Nealy and Austin Mortvedt, Travis (Trisha) Wilkinson, Nicholas Miner, Blake Brenner, Melissa Hall, James Hall, Tammy Adkins, and Brandon Gerken, Adam Whitley; and five great- grandchildren. In death, Lila is rejoined with her parents Don and Ruby Lincoln; and her siblings Bernard Swisher and Derald Swisher.
