Lillian Jean Hoover, 75, of Marshalltown, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Memorial services for Lillian will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be one hour before service time. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Lillian and her family. Lillian Pugh was born on May 19, 1940 to Charles and Louise Glasford Arnold. She was a graduate from Lovilia High School in Iowa. On March 31, 1960, Lillian was united in marriage to Cyril Hoover in Muscatine. They had resided in the Marshall County area for most of their married life. Lillian and Cyril had previously owned and operated their own company; H and L Pallet where Lillian would do the bookkeeping. She had also worked for Midland Transportation and currently was working part time for MICA. Lillian was a Girl Scout Leader for years as well as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of ARC. She was a proud supporter of the Hillary Clinton campaign and had even taken a picture with Hillary recently. Lillian enjoyed scrapbooking, reading and supported and served on committees for the handicapped. Lillian is survived by her husband of 56 years, Cyril. Daughters: Melissa Hoover and Colleen Ward. Grandchildren: Errick Hoover, Jacqueline (Jackie Rose) Hoover, Katelyn Lillyanna Hoover and Cody Hoover. She is also survived by her beloved dogs DiNozzo and Ziva, nieces and nephews as well as the many children and adults she had taken in over the years. Lillian is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Louise, daughters Merri Rose Hoover and Rosie Hoover. Brothers: Tom Pugh and Steve Arnold and her step father John Arnold.
