Lilly Pickering

Lilly Pickering, age 16, of Toledo, formerly of Eldora, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center - Emergency Services in Aledo, Illinois. Lilly was born on March 07, 2006 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She grew up in Eldora before moving to Toledo, where she had attended South Tama High School. Hardworking and determined, she was proud of her job at Hardees in Toledo. She is survived by her father, Bryan Pickering (Kristi Smith) of Toledo; her mother, Winenona (Engel) Baily of Iowa Falls; biological father, Bradley Bennett (Trisha Voss) of Oskaloosa; siblings: Jordyn, Agytha and Wyatt Pickering, Quinn Smith and Hayleigh Bennett; step-brothers: Ayden and Kayleb Voss; grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Lilly's personality was vibrant and colorful - a true reflection of the artist within. She expressed her vast imagination and talent through oil paintings, makeup and hair, which she learned how to perfect from watching endless hours of tutorials. Her teachers saw the potential of her artistry and her parents always encouraged her to pursue a career doing something she loved. Lilly also enjoyed listening to music, hanging out with her friends, making and watching TikTok videos, shopping and going out to eat. She was a typical teenager, always on the go unless she was sleeping. Lilly was wise beyond her years, with an ability to make friends from many groups and a desire to know people at a deeper level. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life on Saturday, July 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown.
