Linda L. (Rowe) Frericks, 68, of Gladbrook passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown, Iowa, with her loving family by her side. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials will be distributed to the Kidney Foundation of Iowa, Heart Foundation of Iowa and Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the 4th child born to Marvin Edwin and Leona (Kimball) Rowe in Prairie City, Oregon. Linda attended school in the Gladbrook Community School District, graduating with the class of 1964. On June 6, 1964, Linda was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Loran Frericks at the EUB Church in Gladbrook, Iowa. They settled on the Frericks Family Farm, where they had a dairy business. Linda took CNA training, working at Oakview Nursing Home then Westbrook Acres and later becoming Dietary Cook at Westbrook Acres until her retirement. Linda was a great cook, she liked to crochet, knit, read and spend time on her computer. After retirement, she loved to go camping and became an avid scrap booker and card maker. She was so happy her daughter Leanna moved where it was easy for her to drive to; they had a great time doing mother- daughter things. The last time they shared was when she taught Leanna to cook a few dishes and Leanna fixed a delicious Christmas dinner for the entire family. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, Henry Loran Frericks of the family farm, son Lonnie and wife, Siggi Frericks of King George, Virginia, daughter Leanna Frericks of Waterloo, Iowa and granddaughter, Heather Joan Frericks of King George, Virginia, Siblings Karen Staker and Sue Cakerice of Conrad and brother Gary Rowe and Roni of Des Moines, Iowa and her 4 legged buddy, Kimie Jo, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death, Linda rejoins her parents, Marvin and Leona, and brother, Richard (Ed) Rowe.
