Linda (Momberg) Praska

Linda (Momberg) Praska, age 85, of Albion, Iowa passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Harmony of Marshalltown.

Per Linda and her family’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service which has been scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Linda Rae Momberg was born on April 13, 1940, in Cut Bank, Montana. She was the daughter of Bud Momberg and Earlene Amendt. Her stepmom Jean Momberg and stepdad Virgil Amendt both held a very special place in Linda’s heart. Linda attended Marshalltown High School and graduated with the class of 1958. On August 2, 1958, she married the love of her life Ray Praska, and they spent the next 67 years loving each other. Linda worked for 25 years at Fisher Controls in the customer service department until her retirement in 1998. She was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish: St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshalltown and the Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center. In her free time Linda enjoyed gardening, playing golf, taking shopping trips with her girlfriends, traveling to Phoenix and Texas with her husband, being a part of multiple prayer groups, but most importantly she appreciated her time with family. Spending time with her husband, her kids, and grandkids was priceless to her. She will be dearly missed by all those who love her.

She is survived by her husband Ray Praska; her daughters: Machelle Meeks, Lori Brown, and Kendra (Kyle) Barker; her grandchildren: Cory (Kristy) Brown, Candra Sagar, Cali Sagar, Kylie Vonnahme, Kelsi Vonnahme, Breanna (Tanner) Crawford, and Brayden Barker; her sister Kay (Jim) Degrado; several adored great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents: Bud & Jean Momberg and Earlene & Virgil Amendt; her sister Bobbie Carter; her parents in law: Ralph and Gertie Praska; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Shirley & Kenny Karnes and Marie & Fred Simbides; and her son in law Joe Meeks.
