Linda Schwaller, 67, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Mass of Christian Burial for Linda will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, at the St. Henry Catholic Church. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed in Lindas name to either the Hope Lodge (750 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, Iowa 52240) or the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown. Linda was born September 24, 1943, in Charter Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Elva (Rockwell) Potter. She was raised and educated in Denison, Iowa, where she went on to graduate from the Denison High School. Following high school Linda moved to Omaha, Nebraska, and worked for a year. A short time later, Linda met the love of her life, Leo. They were married on April 25, 1964, at the Baptist Church in Denison, Iowa. Following their marriage they made their homes in Council Bluffs, New Jersey, New York, Chicago and eventually settled in Marshalltown. Throughout this time Linda was employed for over thirty-nine years for Travelers Insurance as an audit manager. Linda and Leo loved to travel together. During their travels, they visited every state in the continental United States with the exception of Montana and South Carolina. They recently completed a cruise together in the Caribbean; Linda enjoyed watching movies, especially the Old Westerns and loved to play cards. Linda was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and loved to sing. Above all Linda was a devoted and loving wife, aunt and sister to her family and will be greatly missed by everyone in her life. Linda is survived by the love her life, her husband Leo, of Marshalltown, her brother Elvin (Carolyn) Potter of New Orleans, Louisiana, her sisters-in-law, several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gene Potter.
