Linda Lee Korando Dieken Sedlacek was born on January 31, 1945, in Richmond, California to George and Virginia (Walton) Korando. Linda lived in San Pablo, California until 1949 when the family returned to the Midwest. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1963, attended the University in Des Moines and later received her AA degree from Marshalltown Community College.

Linda was united in marriage to John Dieken in January of 1965 in Grundy Center, Iowa. The couple moved from Ames to Alameda, California in 1967, and later to Concord. In 1979, Linda moved with her sons to Marshalltown, to be closer to family. Linda and Glen Sedlacek married in Marshalltown in 1981.

Linda was an adventuresome and spirited teenager, and anyone who was close to her growing up could tell you numerous entertaining stories. The middle child in a family of five girls, Linda was her dad’s right-hand gal in the family’s bakery where she worked throughout high school. Linda was a hard worker, popular at school, and a very loyal friend. She was intelligent and quick to learn new things. Her exacting nature and attention to detail served her well in her long-time accounting position at the Marshalltown Community Hospital.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, George and Virginia Korando, sisters Judy Abrahamson, and Georgia Flater. She is survived by sisters, Teresa Korando Stephenson and Barbara Korando.
