Linda M Thoren, 70, of Chelsea, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at UnityPoint Health- Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Linda will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Toledo. Visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the family. Linda Spratt was born on December 5, 1955 in Iowa City. She was the daughter of Richard and Doris (Willoughby) Spratt. Linda graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1974 and then went on to Kirkwood College to obtain her LPN. Linda also studied horse husbandry and took semi-truck driving classes. Linda served in the Army Reserves during the Desert Storm conflict. She worked for various care centers in the area as a nurse in various capacities, as well as drove a semi-truck over-the-road for a time. Linda was a member of the American Legion in Blairstown, Iowa and enjoyed being outdoors when able. She enjoyed gardening, her animals and going for walks on the farm.

Linda is survived by her husband of 30 plus years: Kenneth Ward; siblings: Helen Bleth of Chicago, Tom Spratt of Oxford and Karla Spratt of Coralville along with her mother: Doris of Amana and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her father: Richard and her grandparents.
