Linda C. Welch

Linda Welch, age 74, of St. Anthony, passed away Saturday, November 5th, in the comfort of her home with her husband at her side.

Born on September 29th, 1948, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Edward and Doris (Chambers) Yilek. She graduated from the Marshalltown High School.

On August 14th, 1965, she was united in marriage to Paul Welch, Jr. at the Liberty Friends Church. They made their home in Marshalltown and later St. Anthony. Mrs. Welch was employed for ten years at Marshalltown Manufacturing and then ten years at DONCO in Albion, all while working 24/7 as a farmwife and mother. The couple enjoyed many winters in Texas as well.

Linda will be fondly remembered for her love of her family. Family dinners were important and focused around lots of great food. She also enjoyed fishing, camping and mushroom hunting.

Left to cherish her memory are Paul, her loving husband of 57 years; three sons- Jeff Welch of Marshalltown, Andrew (Lara) Welch of Hudson, Iowa, and Jonathan (Sabrina) Welch of Nevada, IA; seven grandchildren- Keaton Welch, Blake Nyberg, Tanna Levendusky, Kara and Ethan Welch and Xavier and Keira Jensen; her mother-in-law Colleen Welch of Marshalltown and siblings—Jackie Craun of Boone, Mary Wonder of Ames, and Duane and Mike Yilek both of Marshalltown, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In death, Linda rejoined her parents and father-in-law Paul Welch, Sr.
