Linford Lin Smith, 76, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Hawkeye Care Center in Marshalltown, Iowa and under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday July 17, 2016, at 1st United Church of Christ in Marshalltown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Linford Arthur Smith was born on December 12, 1939, in Manchester, Iowa; he was the son of Herbert S. and Ina Mae (Cocking) Smith. Lin attended school in the Manchester Community School District graduating with the class of 1957, he went on and attended LeTourneau Technical Institute and University of Dubuque and received his Business Administration Degree. On September 3, 1959, Linford was united in marriage to Rosalie I. Myers in Manchester, Iowa. Lin had worked for Enron for 38 years. Linford and Rosalie had live in Marshalltown for the past 4 years. Lin had been a member of Toastmasters and 1st United Church of Christ. He enjoyed camping, cars and loved his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Rosalie of Marshalltown, his children, Marschall (Ruth) Smith of Denver, Colorado, Gregory (Angela) Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, Kameron (Julie) Smith of Cadillac, Michigan, Tad( Heather) Smith of Gilbert, Arizona, Jeremy(Gwen) Smith of Winterset, Iowa, Andrea(Matt) Arnold of Omaha, Nebraska, and Shaphan (Teresa) Smith of Marshalltown, Iowa and 21 grandchildren, sisters, Barbara Sedlacek of Surf City New Jersey, Mary( Mike) Larson of Shell Rock, Iowa, brothers, Lowell(Marilyn) Smith of New York and Pete(Judy) smith of Mesa, Arizona. In death Lin rejoins his parents, Herbert and Ina Mae.
