Lloyd Doyle Ealy, 79, of Montour, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Memorial services for Lloyd will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Lloyd Ealy was born on July 16, 1936 in Belle Plaine, Iowa to Doyle and Lucile Vandivier Ealy. Lloyd served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1955 until 1958 where he was a Marksman (Pistol) Sharpshooter and received the Good Conduct Medal. On July 13, 1963, Lloyd was united in marriage to Betty Strauss in Eldora, Iowa. They later divorced but had one son; Evan. Lloyd had been a semi driver as well as worked for Tama Pack and lastly retired from Quality Truck Service. After retirement, Lloyd worked part time for Wal Mart in the Auto Department. Lloyd enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, hunting, camping and playing cards. Above everything else, he truly enjoyed the time with his friends, brothers and his son Evan and his family. Lloyd is survived by his son Evan (Carol Simbides) Ealy of Marshalltown. Grandchildren: Kyler, Kolton, Kassidy, Kanalisha and Kadyn Ealy all of Marshalltown. Siblings: Darrell (Leslee Covington) Ealy of Oxford and Larry (Lorie Nelson) Ealy of Boone as well as several nieces and nephews. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents Doyle and Lucile, brother Dean Ealy, nephew Russell Ealy and niece Laura Ealy.
