Lloyd Gasper, 78, of Marshalltown, died Monday, June 23, 2008 at Grandview Heights Care Center while in the care of his loving family and Iowa Hospice.Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 27th, 2008, at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Reverend Illeana Manship officiating. Private family burial will be held at a future date in the Albion Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to Iowa Hospice or to the Marshalltown Senior Citizens Center. Ph. 641-844-1234.Lloyd was born on January 23, 1930 in Dallas County, Iowa to Jon and Gladys (Reese) Gasper. He attended school in Davenport, Madrid, and other Iowa schools. On May 31, 1969, Lloyd married Grace Richey at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. He worked at a grocery store in his boyhood years, and later at the IVH and then the Marshalltown Area Community Hospital in the Ambulance Department.Left to remember Lloyd are his children, Robert Richmond(Darlene) of Wellington, NC, Lonnie Griswold of Marshalltown, Danny Richmond(Kim) of Doniphan, MO, Rodney Richmond of Denver, CO, Joseph (LuAnn) Meyers of Madison, WI, Marjorie Kent (Terry Hurley) of Albion, and Susan (Chad) Krantmann of Ankeny, IA; his 6 grandchildren; his 8 great-grandchildren; his brother James Stewart of Knoxville, IA; his sisters, Gaye(Ernie) Jordan of Boone, IA, Eva Lilland of Huxley, IA, Caroline(Bobby) Smith of Springfield, MO, Margaret Davis of Des Moines, Mary Ellen Davitt of Des Moines, and Janet Hamann of Enslow, IA.Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Gasper, brothers Fred, George, and Robert, and some siblings in infancy.
