Lloyd Leckness, 75, of Marshalltown, died early Tuesday morning, March 11th, at his home while in care of his loving family and the Iowa River Hospice. Memorial services will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 14th at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the service time. Flag presentation honors will be provided by the American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post #46. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the memorial service. Ph 844-1234.Born on October 29th, 1932, at a farm north of Ellsworth, Iowa, he was the son of Lars and Margarita (Sandve) Leckness. He received his education and graduated from the area of his birth.Lloyd served our country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict as an MP. On October 6th, 1994, he was united in marriage to Karen Jones Moore in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. He was employed at the Co-Op in Hubbard and later as a welder at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown and as a bus driver for Marshall Motor Coach. He was raised in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Leckness enjoyed camping, fishing, Polka music, his Norwegian Heritage and his family. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Debbie (Darrell) Epperson of Marshalltown, Eugene (Lori) Leckness of St. Petersburg, FL., Connie (Eldon) Veld of Union, Trish (Doug) Stadler of Chelsea, and Mindy (Scott) Hendrickson of Minneapolis, grandchildren: Randy Robert Roe and Jarred Dean Goodell, Dustin Eugene and Morgan Ulyissa Veld, Jessica Lauren, Brittany Jo and Natalie Ann Stadler and Colton Layne and Aubrey Elizabeth Hendrickson, Karens family; Becky (Wayne) Tietje of Marshalltown, Kevin Moore of Marshalltown and Kristina (Phillip) Zieser in Missouri, her grandchildren Jason William and Stephanie Lynne Tietje, Joshua Wayne, Katlin Brianna, Trevor Paul and Sadie Moore, Amanda Kay, Nikole Ann-Marie and Justin David Manship all of whom he loved very much, and his siblings: James, Caroline, Diane, Darlene, Rosemary and Maxine. In death he has rejoined his parents, sister Joann Geerdes and his beloved wife, Karen in 2004
