As of noon, Tuesday, March 17th, Governor Reynolds has MANDATED that all events in the state of over 10 persons be cancelled for the corona virus concerns. May our prayers be lifted up during this time of national concern. God bless you all! Born Lois Chrisman on March 31st, 1927, in Whitten, she was the daughter of Oren and Verda (Godfrey) Chrisman. She graduated from the Whitten High School’s Class of 1945.On June 20th, 1949, she was united in marriage to Alphonse Drummer at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Haverhill. They shared 40 years together at the time of his passing on September 25th, 1989. Lois was employed with Marshalltown Manufacturing for nearly 7 years and enjoyed her life as a farmwife and mom on the home place at St. Anthony. After Alphonse passed away, Lois worked at the Marshalltown Senior Citizens Center. She treasured her catholic faith and deeply loved her family. Lois was blessed with six children- Robert Joseph Drummer who passed away in 1998, John Eldon (Deloris) Drummer of State Center, Janice Nadine (Jon) Grove of Ames, Jane Marie (Terry) Reffett of Crete, NE, Thomas Dean Drummer of St. Anthony and David James (Elaine) Drummer of Lincoln, NE; several precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings- Larry (Sonny) Chrisman of Union, Wallace (Barbara) Chrisman of Eldora and Joy (Ray) Navara of Springdale, Ark., as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Later in life, she befriended Avery Gile, who side-by-side shared many laughs and cups of coffee. In death, Lois rejoined her beloved Alphonse, her son Robert, her parents and siblings Margie, Earl, Fern and Ray.
