Lois Olson

Lois Olson, age 94, of Marshalltown, passed away in the peace and comfort of her home on Monday, January 10th. Private family funeral services will be held at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Maple Hill Cemetery at Montour. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice. For condolences, please visit www.mitchell.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born on April 19th, 1927, at the family farm near Montour, she was one of 10 children born to Robert and Erma (Slingluff) Manfull. She graduated from the Montour High School. Lois was employed many years in the schools, Lloyds Restaurant and the Iowa Veterans Home in housekeeping until her retirement after 19 faithful years. She was blessed with four sons: Jack of Marshalltown, John (Genese) of Ankeny, Dennis of Marshalltown and Gene (Pam) of Waukee as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters- Joyce Skala and Joann Gibson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In death, Lois rejoined her parents, five brothers and two sisters.
