Lois Mae Parks

Lois Mae Parks, 89, of Le Grand, Iowa, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 in the comfort of her own home. Memorial services under the direction of the family for Lois will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Le Grand Friends Church with Pastor Alan Mullikin officiating.  There will be no visitation prior to services.  Memorial contributions may be directed in Lois’s name to her family.  For further information or to send a condolence please visit www.mitchellfh.com or call (641) 844-1234.Lois was the daughter of Clarance and Angelyn Hartwell born on November 29, 1928 in Marshalltown. She graduated from Le Grand High School and also Business College.  She was married March 21, 1948 to Fuhrman Parks.  They had four children, Larry (Lavonne), Harold (deceased), Linda (deceased), (Lindsey Pardon), and Lori (Nick Wilson).  She had 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She was employed as a secretary at the LDF High School in Le Grand for many years.  She was also secretary of the family owned business Parks Gas.  She was a member of the Le Grand A.C.T. club, the Le Grand Music and Literary Club and the Le Grand Friends Church.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends every Monday at the Le Grand Log Cabin.  She was also secretary-treasurer of the Le Grand Alumni Association including the current year.  She leaves this early home July 16, 2018 to join her parents, husband, Fuhrman, son Harold and daughter Linda.
