Lola Rinnan, 80, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2023 at home under the care of her loving family and Iowa River Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown.
Lola requested that everyone attending wear bright, vibrant colors in celebration of her life.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church and/or Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown.

Lola Mae Crooks was born on August 29, 1942 to Lester Orville Crooks and Irene Evelyn Beahr in Butte, Montana. When Lola was 3 years old her family moved to Iowa where she later attended school in Tama. After graduating High School in 1961, she was united in marriage to Frederick Rinnan on April 15, 1962 at the Lutheran Church in Tama. They were blessed with two children; Duane and Kristen. Lola worked in healthcare her entire working career; starting as an aide, then an LPN and eventually earning her RN licensure through Marshalltown Community College.
Lola enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends in their motorhome to various destinations throughout the country. She was also known to her family and friends as a master gardener and avid bird watcher, enjoying the variety of birds she attracted to the various feeders she and Fred set up in their backyard. Lola was a believer in Jesus Christ and was a generous, loving person, giving to many charities and was active in her church.
Lola is survived by her loving husband: Frederick Rinnan of Marshalltown, Children: Duane (Christy) Rinnan of Truro, IA and Kristen (Randy) Dillon of San Diego, CA, Grandchildren: Michael (Jean Marie) Rinnan, Leah (Matthew) Daniels, Tyler (Leesa) Rinnan, Adam Dillon and Nate Dillon, Great Grandchildren: Olivia, Bennett, Korbin, Kinley, Kamden and Beckham and her brother George (Rosalyn) Uchytil, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Betty Crouse and Benjamin Crooks.
