Born Loreen Petermeier on November 23rd, 1960, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Larry and Mary Ann (Harris) Petermeier. She began her schooling at St. Marys and St. Henrys Catholic Schools until the family moved to an acreage north of Green Mountain. Lori graduated from the Green Mountain High Schools class of 1979. She later attended the Spencer School of Business in Spencer, IA, earning her Associates Degree in Accounting, Business Management and Human Resource Fundamentals with a minor in Informational Technology. Lori enjoyed playing softball, basketball, track and treasured her family. It was meaningful to her to have all her children and grandchildren involved in camping trip and events, especially during this last year of her health declining due to cancer. She especially liked seeing her sons race and her grandchildrens sporting events. There was never step in her vocabulary- she took everyone in her family as her own. She always enjoyed talking to people, and anyone who knew her was going to get her opinion- like it or not! She enjoyed the occupations she has had over the years and learning from them as well. In April of 1980, she was united in marriage to Dennis Curt Balmer. Even though their lives parted in 1989, they were blessed with three children- Curtis Lee Roy, Tanya Suzanne and Kevin Michael. On December 4th of 1989, she married the love of her life, Jack Carl Frost in Des Moines. Jack taught Lori how to drive a semi tractor-trailer and together they shared eleven years of cross-country driving. Even though miles from home, she never forgot her children were her #1s. Left to cherish her memory are Jack, her top priority in life and her loving husband of 25 years, her children- Curtis Lee Roy (Miranda) Balmer of Baxter, Tanya Suzanne (Aaron) Pierson of Elkhart and Kevin Michael (Megan) Balmer of Garwin; nine precious grandchildren- Cameron, Haley, Carleigh, Landon, Cooper, Adam, Levi, Emma and Payton, her siblings- Mark (Tammy), John (Tiffany), Greg (Jill) Jennifer and baby boy brother, Joe (Andrea), 15 nephews- NO nieces- only the Frost side gave her a niece! and many cousins and friends. In death, she rejoined her parents and grandparents.
