Lori J. Colby

Lori J. Colby, 58, of State Center, Iowa passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 4, 2014 at Iowa River Hospice. Lori Jaurine (Pfeil) Colby was born February 27, 1956 in Slayton, MN to Norma Pfeil. She graduated from Worthington High school in 1974. Lori enjoyed feeding her birds and squirrels, watching the Blue Jays out of her kitchen window and most of all, whipping a batch of her famous chocolate chip cookies and many other goodies that she enjoyed sharing with the ladies up at Cissys! Nothing made Lori happier than spending time with her family and her pups, Zoey and Gizmo. Lori is survived by her husband of 32 years, Harry Colby; children; Matthew (Tracy) Schroeder, Jenny (Rick) Smith, Joseph (Sarah) Colby, Alex Colby, and Amanda (Jesse) Colby; grandchildren; Dillon Kirchner, Paytan Smith, Autumn Schroeder, Layla Winkel, and one great grandchild; mother, Norma Pfeil; sister; Lisa (Jim) Scholl and best friends, Sue (Dave) Lindemann; several nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Lori is preceded in death by her sister, Cheri Pfeil. A private family burial will be held at Hillside Cemetery in State Center, Iowa.
