Lori (Ron) Cook, 47, of Marshalltown, died early Sunday morning, June 26, at the Villa del Sol while in their loving care and also that of the Iowa River Hospice and her loving family. On behalf of her Lori, her family thanks the Villa del Sol and the Iowa River Hospice for their compassionate care they lovingly gave her on this last journeyit will never be forgotten. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Jean Bower and Harlan Nuss officiating. She will be laid to rest at a later date in the Marietta Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Lamoille Congregational Church or Iowa River Hospice. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Ph. 641-844-1234. Born Lori Lynn Johnson on February 27, 1964, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Herb and Lola (Bryngelson) Johnson. She graduated from the West Marshall High Schools Class of 1982 and later received her LPN degree. Lori was a nurse at the Marshall County Care Facility and later MMSC and local nursing homes. She was a member of the Lamoille Congregational Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. On September 10, 2006, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ron Cook. They made their home together in Marshalltown. They enjoyed many similarities together, including camping. Their time together was short, but wonderful. Left to cherish her memory are Ron, her loving husband, three sons: Charles Thomas of Lamoille, Trevor and William Thomas both of Marshalltown, her parents Herb and Lola Johnson of Lamoille, sisters Judy (Tab) Hill of Marshalltown, Nancy (Bob) Edler of Des Moines and Teri (Larry) Schoberg of Union, step-daughter Melissa (Jon) Richardson, step-granddaughter Sophia Richardson as well as many aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In death, Lori rejoined her grandparents- Fred and Viola Johnson and Arthur and Cora Bryngelson.
