Lori was born to parents Bob and Marilyn Moses on August 13, 1961, in Marshalltown, Iowa. She graduated from South Tama High School in 1979 as class valedictorian and completed a degree in transportation and logistics from Iowa State University in 1984.
Lori was a lover of many things and a loyal friend to all. She enjoyed the hunt of a good collectible and especially enjoyed seeking out Star Trek memorabilia as an avid fan. In recent years she could be found attending symphony concerts and enjoying literature with her dear friend Gary Zmolek and spent several years running her ice cream truck that brought joy to so many. She was an avid animal rights activist that saved many pets over the years and always fought for the rights of those with no voice. To her family, she was a steadfast sister, a loving mother, and a caring daughter. She loved God and truly exemplified the commandment of love thy neighbor.
Lori is survived by her two sons, Aaron (Leah) Grant and Blake (Katie) Grant; caring sister and brother-in-law, Jayne and Bob Ahlbrandt; her nephews Tom and Joe Ahlbrandt; grandchildren, Ava, Ollie, and Lennie Grant; as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by father and mother, Bob and Marilyn Moses as well as grandparents, Anna Wesenauer, Louis and Gladys Martin. Though her own time was cut too short, Lori would want us all to “Live long and prosper.”
In lieu of flowers, the family would request memorials be given to help cover the cost of the ceremony and service at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Lovingly written by her family.
