Lori M. Niehus, 50, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Her loving family was by her side. Visitation service for Lori will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 10, 2017 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Shomo will solemnize the memorial service at 10:30 a.m. following the visitation. Memorial contributions may be directed in Loris name to her family. Lori Earhart (Niehus) was born on August 17, 1966 in Marshalltown, Iowa; the daughter of Robert Earhart and Cheryl (McHenry) Peshel. She was raised and educated in the County School District, graduating from Herbert Hoover High School. Lori was united in marriage to Mark Niehus for four years and later divorced. Lori had met Bruce McKeag, the two were engaged at the time of her passing and had been together for nineteen years. Lori had a passion for fishing, cooking, spending time with family and friends, as well as tending to her flowers and garden. Lori loved to pass time socializing on Facebook games. Left to cherish her memory is her fianc: Bruce McKeag; children: Matthew Earhart, Michael (Abby Niebuhr) Earhart, Thomas (Alesha Sanders) Niehus and Madison (Jacob) Fogt; step-children: Cody and Travis McKeag; grandchildren: Mahala, Elijah, Leighton, Collin and Alley; father: Robert Earhart; uncle: Jerry (Pat) McHenry; uncle: Jimmie (Rachael) McHenry; siblings: Robert Earhart Jr., Jenny (Roger) Frieze, Andy (Jennette Melcher) Peshel, Traci Earhart, Joey (Malinda) Lutes and Jim (Tonya) Lutes; nephews: Devon Frieze and Kegan Frieze. Numerous friends also cherish Lori's memory. She is preceded in death by her mother: Cheryl (McHenry) Peshel; two grandchildren: Emmitt and Edgar Earhart; and grandparents.
