Lori K. Svec 50, of Presbyterian Village, in Ackley, Iowa formerly of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on Tuesday evening in Ackley with her loving family by her side. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday April 7, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. For condolences please visit www.Mitchellfh.com or call 641-844-1234. Lori K. Svec was born on October 24, 1966, in Marshalltown, Iowa; she was the daughter of James and Linda (Shaffer) Svec. Lori attended school in Marshalltown Community School District at the Pleasant Hill Developmental Center in Marshalltown, Iowa until age 15. Lori lived at Hills and Dales in Dubuque, Iowa, until she was 21 and then moved to Opportunity Living in Lake City, Iowa. She has been at Presbyterian Village in Ackley, Iowa for the last 17 yrs. Lori held a special place in our hearts and anybody that knew her. She had a contagious smile and laugh that just won you over if you were around her. Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Jim and Linda Svec of Marshalltown, Iowa, sister, Jami (Wendell) Dolezal of Marshalltown, and her favorite nephews, Trevor and Jarod, Aunt and Uncle Bill and Joanne Shaffer of Granbury, Texas and cousins in Texas and Iowa. In death Lori rejoins her grandparents, Cloe and Kay Shaffer and George and June Svec.
