Lorraine Bartlett

**Joint burial for Lorraine and Les will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Marshalltown.**

Lorraine Elenor Bartlett, 93, of McKinney, Texas passed away on May 31, 2023, at Belmont at Twin Creeks, Allen, Texas.

She was born August 30, 1929, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to Walter and Cordelia (Thurston) Ellis.

Lorraine graduated from Marshalltown High School in Iowa in 1947. Lorraine was united in marriage to Leslie Bartlett February 5, 1949, in Marshalltown, Iowa. They moved to McKinney, Texas in 1969.

She taught Red Cross Adult Swimming Lessons for many years in Marshalltown and McKinney. She also helped teach Red Cross Lifesaving courses. Lorraine was an active member of the “Prairie and Timbers Audubon Society and was a Certified bird-bander for the Audubon Society. She was an active member of the Heard Museum, and the Art Club of McKinney.

She was employed by Fidelity Bank of Marshalltown, Iowa and for many years by First State Bank of McKinney, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters, René (Jim) Lynch, Chaska, MN, Jill (Ed) Arnsdorff, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, Kimberly (Tony) Speck, Allen, Texas, and son Guy Bartlett, Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Christopher (Sue) Lynch, Jefferson (Monica) Lynch, Stacy Alderson, Shannon Alderson, Nicholas (Samantha) Foster, Jordan Foster; great grandchildren, Jackson Lynch, Maeson Lynch, Skylar Lynch, Pierson Lynch, Chase Lynch, Coleson Lynch, Kaden Shaw, Oliver Lynch.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Cordelia Ellis; brothers, Alfred (Bernelle) Ellis and Robert (Marie) Ellis; sisters, Fae Ellis, Alice (Lawrence) Johnson, Evelyn (William) Clark; and daughter-in law, Norma Bartlett.

Lorraine will have an interment service with her husband of 67 years, in August, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marshalltown, Iowa.

The family requests that in lieu of memorials to do a deed of kindness to others.
