Lorraine Starck

Lorraine Starck, 95, of rural Garwin, died in the peace of her home on the morning of Monday, February 3rd, 2014. Born Lorraine Paustian on October 29th, 1918, at Gladbrook, she was the daughter of Henry and Ella (Ladehoff) Paustian. She received her education in the area of her birth. On December 12th, 1945, she was united in marriage to Elmer Starck in Waterloo, Iowa. She helped Elmer farm and they raised their family on the farm east of Garwin. Lorraine enjoyed the country life- raising her garden, cooking, helping with the chores and time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her sons: Allen (Rachel) Starck and Tharold Starck and her brother Lowell Paustian. In death, she rejoined her beloved husband Elmer, her parents, and three sisters- Berneada Thede, Zelda Storjohann and Darlene Lantz.
