Louise Jones, 90, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at the Iowa Veterans Home with her loving family by her side. Funeral services for Louise will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at St Pauls Episcopal Church in Marshalltown with Rev. Mary Jane Oakland officiating. Public visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Georgia Louise May was born on May 17, 1923, in What Cheer, Iowa, the daughter of Jesse and Anna Belle (Courtney) May. She was raised and educated in the What Cheer School District graduating from What Cheer High School. After high school, Louise attended Business College in Ottumwa. On August 25, 1951, Louise was united in marriage to Marshall Jones at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. From this union three children were born: Al, Tim, and Margy. Louise worked for Glick Supply Company in Marshalltown from 1967 until 1989. She was a member of St. Pauls Choir and Bell Choir, St. Margarets Mission, and the Vets home chime tone choir. Louise loved cats, reading, working on jigsaw puzzlesespecially with her grandson, Ian. She was involved in Arts at the Iowa Veterans Home, and enjoyed making gifts for others. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Marshall; three children: Al (Bobbi) Jones, Tim Jones and Margy (Bob) Averill; grandchildren: Kelli (Shane) Anderson, Jason Jones, Ben Jones, Jacob Jones, Caitlin Jones, Lindsay (Ryan) Kappelman and Ian Brockway; great-grandchildren: Isabelle Anne Kappelman, Viola Mae Kappelman, Ava Jo Brockway and Myles Robert Anderson; one brother: Roy May and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents: Jesse and Anna May; siblings: Lloyd May, Ruth May (Heaton), Flossie E. May (Larimer) and M. Margaret (May) Butler.
