Louise E. Stevens, 82, of State Center, IA passed peacefully Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 at the Iowa River Hospice home in Marshalltown, IA. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 9th, 2010, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com.There will be no visitation. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for the family. Phone 641-844-1234.Louise was born September 25th, 1927 to Edward & Rosa (Cohen) Lader of Portsmouth, VA. Louise grew up in Virginia with her seven siblings. At 16 yrs of age, Louise worked in the Navy yard, where she met Raymond E. Stevens, of Parkersburg, IA, and they were united in marriage on Nov. 29th, 1947. They moved to Marshalltown, IA where they raised two daughters.Louise worked at the box factory and Marshalltown Manufacturing where she retired in 1973. Louise loved the great outdoors including fishing, boating, snowmobiling, gardening, camping, & riding bikes. She was on a bowling league and also enjoyed playing Bingo and baking. She loved being with family and friends and could light up the room brighter than sunshine. She left an impression on everyone she met and made close friends easily. Upon Rays retirement they spent 16 years on acreage in Unionville, IA close to Rays brother & wife. The last 3 years residing in State Center, IA close to grandchildren. Left to cherish her life are her daughters, Linda (Sam) Rotolo and Doris (Chris) Bonell both of Washington State, her grandchildren, Ron Stevens of Osage, IA, Kristi (Cliff) Yates of State Center, IA, Jesse (Tara) Berstler of Ames, IA, Ashley (John) Motley of Gresham, OR, Erin Folk of Albuquerque, NM, 6 great-grandchildren, her sisters Irene Galbreath and Bertha Jamison both of Virginia, and many nieces, nephews, & cousins. In death she rejoins her husband, Raymond , her parents Edward & Rosa Lader, her brothers Adolph Lader, Albert Lader, Milton Lader, & Bill Lader, and sister Annie Buttler.
