Lozeta Davis

August 17, 1938 — September 20, 2022

Lozeta Davis, 84, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Union, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2022 under the care of Iowa River Hospice.


Visitation will take place on Monday, September 26 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, IA. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 P.M. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Pastor Jacob Rahrig officiating. Memorial donations can be made to the family for later designation. Born Lozeta May Butler on August 17, 1938 in Bangor, Iowa, she was the daughter of Ora and Margaret (Holladay) Butler. After meeting the love of her life, Donald Davis, they were united in marriage on January 28, 1956. Lozeta spent many years as a dedicated and loving homemaker. Later she went on to work a variety of jobs, including at Anson School, The Embers, Grandview Heights and MIW until she was 81years old. Lozeta was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball and camping. She loved taking care of everyone's kids and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed baking, crocheting, crafting, reading and taking trips to the casinos.


Left to cherish her memory are her children: Tim Davis, Skeeter (LaDonna) Davis, Terrie Davis, Lisa (Alan) Coppock, Jason Davis (Teresa Bowman) and extra kids: Mike Gallentine, Stephanie Propp and Louie Wright; grandchildren: Kyle Davis, Kasey Davis, Amy Damman, Shena Briggs, Marci Gibson, Sheri Chase, Brandon Meling, Trevor Broekemeier, Tye Broekemeier, Sydney Davis, Devin Davis, Chris Bennett and David Bennett; step-grandchildren: Ali Eggleston, Amy Coppock and Adam Coppock; 25 great-grandchildren: Ashton, Braeden, Margarette, Alice, Dayton, Cole, Bailey, Natilee, Lex, Kristain, Kierra, Brevon, Maverick, Cesar, Lexi, Jolessa, Alice, Wyatt, Zeke, Ozzy, Isabella, Amelia, Sam, Elliot and Evelyn.; her siblings: Myrna (Craig) Wilson, Jack Butler, Rita (Reggie) Collins, David (Lorrie) Butler and Tammy (Mike) Shore; sister-in-law, Rose Gardner; brother-in-law, Ronnie Davis; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.


In eternal life, she is reunited with her beloved husband, Donald; her parents, Ora and Margaret and her brother, Darrel Butler.
