Luann Warden

LuAnn (Mrs. Steve) Warden, 53, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, March 1st, at her home while in the loving care of her family and the Iowa River Hospice. She was called to her heavenly home after a five year battle with inflammatory breast cancer. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5th, at St. Henrys Catholic Church with Fr. Don Czapla officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Haverhill. Friends may call at the Church of St. Henry from 5-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. vigil time. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for LuAnn and her family. Ph 844-1234. Born LuAnn Heil on May 27th, 1954, she was the daughter of Richard and Roselene (Neuroth) Heil. She attended St. Josephs School in Haverhill, Lenihan and graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1972. She attended MCC for one year. On August 11th, 1973, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Haverhill, she was united in marriage to Steven Warden. They made their home in Marshalltown all of their married lives and since 1984; she was teacher and later director for St. Pauls Preschool at the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Marshalltown. Mrs. Warden was a member of the St. Henrys Catholic Church, the Matins Kiwanis, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Alpha Gamma Chapter in Marshalltown, and supported her sons and husband in Little League for 13 years and ran the concession stand for three years of that. Her parting words for us that remain is that she loved her job, her family and especially her granddaughter, Taylor. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 34 years, Steve, her sons: Tony (Allison) Warden and daughter Taylor of Clive and Tim Warden of West Des Moines, her parents Richard and Roselene Heil of Marshalltown, siblings: Larry (Helen) Heil of Grand Island, NE, Carole (Mark) Reinhart of Peoria, AZ, Jeff (Deb) Heil of Haverhill, Cathy (Frank) Weaver of Williamsburg, Julie (Tom) Johnson of Haverhill and Rich (Katie) Heil of Johnston, Iowa, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her grandparents William and Elizabeth Heil, Amelia and Paul Neuroth and parents-in-law Bob and Irene Warden.
