Lucile Hof, age 101, formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on the afternoon of Thursday, February 20th, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 25th, at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown with Rev. Alex Post officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the church in her memory. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Lucy and her family.
Born on April 19th, 1923, in Radcliffe, Hardin County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Ira and Elizabeth (Lange) Neubauer. She graduated from the Radcliffe High School. Following graduation, she moved to Marshalltown, working for Fisher Controls from 1943 until 1962.
On July 2nd, 1955, she was united in marriage to Willard “Bud” Hof at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Her faith was very near and dear in her heart beginning with baptism and confirmation at St. John Lutheran Church in Hubbard and then Redeemer Lutheran in Marshalltown. Lucy was active in many church activities including LWML. She was also a member of the SCI club.
Left to cherish her memory of her son, Byron (Renee) Hof of Marshalltown; three grandchildren- Brian Hof (Mikaela Rhoads), Sean Hof and Criss Hof all of Marshalltown; five step-grandchildren- April McKibben of Marshalltown, Christy Halverson of State Center, Elick Verdulla of Garwin, Eric Verdulla of Marshalltown and Amanda Huisman of Cedar Falls, 26 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
In death, Lucy rejoined her beloved "Bud" who passed in 1994, her parents, brother Alvin Neubauer of Radcliffe and many other family and friends.
