Lucille Bear

Lucille Bear, age 80, of rural Marshalltown, passed away in the peace of her home on Friday, January 25th, with her loving family at her side.           Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 28th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Ph. 641-844-1234.           Born on Christmas Eve day of 1938, she lived in Marshalltown all of her life and graduated from the Marshalltown High School in 1956.           She married La Verne Bear in Missouri in 1966 and they had 49 years together until his passing in November of 2015. In those years, they camped, danced, (both ballroom and square dancing), rode snowmobiles and took long trips on motorcycles. She was also preceded in death by her parents and son, Lane.           She is survived by her daughter Leslie “Sue” Forrest of Marshalltown whom she lived with and cared for Lucille. She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
