Lucille Freiberg, 75, of Marshalltown, died Saturday late afternoon, March 3rd, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with a time of fellowship and refreshments to immediately follow. She will be laid to rest in the Green Mountain Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. A memorial fund is being established. Born on September 10th, 1931, at Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Baer) Snyder. She received her education in the Marshalltown Public Schools. Lucille was united in marriage to Clair Freiberg. She has resided in the Marshalltown, Clemons and LeGrand communities. Lucille was employed for nearly 20 years at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown until her retirement in 1990. She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church where she attended the ladies circle, helped with bulletins and lunches. She loved to dance and treasured her relationship with her longtime friend and companion, Raymond Rhodes of Marshalltown. Left to mourn her loss are her children, Steven (DeLee) Freiberg of Marshalltown, Sandra Freiberg of Denver, Colorado, four grandchildren: Trey (Jessica) Woodard, Jeffrey Woodard, Jason Freiberg, JaLeen Freiberg, great-granddaughter Sage Marie Woodard, her longtime friend and companion, Raymond Rhodes, sisters Virginia (the late John) Hoop of Marshalltown and Kathleen (Omie) Oetker of Marshalltown, brother Paul (Kay) Snyder of Marshalltown as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In death, she has rejoined her son Doug, her parents and 2 brothers and 2 sisters. She truly now is dancing in heaven with Jesus.
