On Thursday, March 24, 2022 we lost our beloved son, husband, father, uncle, and friend—Lue Robert Beaumont. Lue was born in Minot, ND, August 6, 1973 to Cathy Scheffert Beaumont. Born 6 weeks early and brought home in a shoe box, Lue became a bigger than life voice, personality and inspiration, touching so many lives. He spent his childhood moving around with his mother and they settled in Marshalltown in 1987, where he graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1991. Lue found the love of his life in Erin Condit and they were married on October 4, 1997, enjoying nearly 25 years together creating a beautiful family. The next biggest events in Lue’s life occurred on August 31, 2000 and July 18, 2002, when their two children, Gavin and Blythe came into their lives. Lue was a dedicated and supportive father—coaching, inspiring and encouraging them to become the beautiful young adults they are today. Lue’s other loves included family and friend time, the game of golf, boating, skiing, and coaching. He loved his time in Kiawah Island, South Carolina with family and friends. A true joy and mission was coaching Gavin and Blythe’s baseball and softball teams and in doing so, impacted so many more than just his own children. He was an amazing mentor and inspiration for the lives of so many in this role. He had hopes to continue coaching in Marshalltown and help with softball clinics. Lue had a successful career at John Deere starting in 2006 and took much pride in the company and his positions over the years. Lue and Erin recently moved back to their hometown of Marshalltown as they had a love for Iowa and were excited to be moving back to their roots and be closer to family. Being closer to his beloved Hawkeyes may have been a small consideration. He was always proud and never shy to hang his flag of Black and Gold when they lived in Ohio. Everyone that met Lue loved to be around his energy and infectious laughter. Everywhere they traveled Lue made lifelong friends. He was a beautiful example of Christ-like love and understanding. He made everyone (including perfect strangers) comfortable in his presence and was always bold in his love and kindness. He will be greatly missed. Family was at Lue’s core with a deep love for his grandparents (who he only recently lost) who helped to raise him. He loved quiet time with his wife and time as a family of four, settling in for a movie they’d watched several times before, which somehow was funnier with every viewing. Lue is survived by his loving wife, Erin, their two children Gavin and Blythe, his mother Cathy (Scheffert) Beaumont and family by marriage: Rick and Kirstan Condit, Clayton, Barb, Alix and Sydnee Condit, and Callie Condit. Lue is preceded in death by his cherished grandparents, Bob & Flo Scheffert. The family would like to express appreciation for the profound love and support shown by countless friends, neighbors and family that have loved this family throughout the years. Their love, support, and compassion will continue to be needed and appreciated. A Celebration of Lue’s life will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Hope United Methodist Church in Marshalltown with social time to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Lue’s name to Marshalltown Girls Softball Association and the “MGSA Lue Beaumont Memorial Fund”—P.O.
