Lynn B. Hauser

Lynn B. Hauser, 69, of Marshalltown, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at the Liscomb Church of Christ, Liscomb, IA. Burial will be in the Hauser Cemetery, Union, IA immediately following the service. A luncheon will follow the burial at the church. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Hauser was born March 9, 1948, in Marshalltown, IA, to Dale and Ann (Koch) Hauser. He was raised in the Whitten area and graduated in 1966 from Union-Whitten High School where he played football and baseball. After graduation he attended Marshalltown Community College and was a member of the Iowa Army National Guard. Throughout the years he worked in sales for Harkers Wholesale Meats and Doyen Co. He also worked for various cleaning companies including Marsden and most recently FBG at Alliant Energy facilities. In addition, he assisted his brother-in-law, Ron Galloway, with farming duties. On November 16, 1968 he married the love of his life, Rosemary Galloway at Liscomb Church of Christ, Liscomb, IA. They made their home and raised their family in Marshalltown, IA. Lynn and Rosemary enjoyed forty-eight wonderful years of marriage. Together they loved watching their children and grandchildren play sports and participate in other activities. Lynn and Rosemary loved to go on bike rides, enjoyed family gatherings at the lake, and taking quick trips to the Mississippi River. Lynn was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He always had his arms open to give anyone a big hug. Lynn was a member of the Whitten Christian Church later transferring membership to the Liscomb Church of Christ where he had served as Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon and member of the church board. He was a past member of the Marshalltown High School Booster Club. He enjoyed coaching his sons in youth sports including Little League and MFL football. He spent time and took pride in being an ASA softball umpire. Left to celebrate his life are his loving wife, Rosemary; sons, Mark (Chris), Mike (Carie) and David (Maria). There are six grandchildren: Austin, Aaron, Cole, Londyn, Lilliana, and Simon Hauser. In addition, he is survived by his strong and devoted Christian mother, Ann Hauser; and sister, Elaine (Rick) Peterson; and a multitude of relatives and friends. In Death he has rejoined his father, Dale Hauser.
