Mabel Geraldine Louise Petrie Brennick, of Marshalltown entered heaven’s gate early Tuesday morning on February the 18th, while sleeping peacefully. Mabel was in her 90th year. Mabel was the cherished wife of the late Eugene Brennick. Mabel & Eugene wed on December 14, 1947. Mabel was born & raised in Tama County. She was educated in Marshalltown Schools. Mabel was the CEO of the Brennick family having 6 amazing children, 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Mabel loved enjoying coffee with her friends & family, driving, spending time in her garden, and just living life. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children, anyone that knew them knew that she was a star in their eyes. Mabel was the most dedicated wife and mother first and foremost. Mabel had a flair for baking, she worked effortlessly in her kitchen for decades. Mabel was truly a farm girl at heart, with a serious passion for sports. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went. She leaves behind her very large family that she was extremely proud of, including five daughters, Susan (Norm) Cook, Pamela (Robin) Mann, Jo Ann Holder, Sharon Wolken, Sandy Karns, and one son “25 years late” as Eugene would say and “mom’s favorite” Christopher (Debbie) Brennick. She was blessed with twenty-one grandchildren, Chad (Brenda) Cook, Jeff (Shauna) Cook, Josh (Brooke) Cook, Stephanie Clay, Amy (Chad) Novotny, Aaron (Tiffany) Mann, Nick (Lyndsey) Jansen, Paige (Grant) Shadden, Brandi (Jay) Giannetto, Jesse (McKensey) Holder, Megan (Ira) Seymour, Sarah (Brandon) Davison, Wade (Rachel) Wolken, Nathan (Allison) Wolken, Amanda Carroll, Lacey (Jerry) Swedberg, Zak Karns, Lucas Karns, Sander Brennick, Kai Brennick, Bentley Brennick. She was even more blessed with forty-three great grandchildren, Brandon White (Savannah), Cody (Cheyenna) Cook, Mathew Cook, Seth Cook, Cameron Cook, Mason Cook, Macey, Jadyn, Delaney, Riley Cook, Kale (Bryce) Smith, Peyton Clay (Noah), Sydney Vilez (Noah), Hunter Vilez, Spencer Novotny, Lexi Novotny, Kanin Mann, Jett Jansen, Jovi Jansen, Sterling Shadden, Lionel Shadden, Jade Hall, Elle Hall, Carter Giannetto, Mia Giannetto, Nora Giannetto, Everlee Holder, Sutter Holder, Alexa Boliver, Dru Boliver, Blake Seymour, Desirae Seymour, Jace Davison, Isla Davison, Holland Wolken, Clara Wolken, Violet Wolken, Aubrey Carroll, Alexis Carroll, Chase Carroll, Hannah Swedberg, Ayden Swedberg, Theo Swedberg. Included in her legacy are four great-great grandchildren, Bentley White, Ashlynn White, Alayna Cook, Piper Waskow. She leaves behind a legacy that will just keep growing and growing as she watches over from afar. In death she has rejoined her husband Eugene who died in 2007, her parents, son Dennis LaVern Brennick, grandson K.C. Karns, great grandson Darryl “Matthew” Cook, and twelve brothers and sisters. Family & Friends are invited to attend services for Mabel at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon on Tuesday March 3rd, 2020. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with services to follow at 10:30 with Pastor Fred Berry officiating. Lunch following in the lower level of the church. Private interment will be at a later date. She will be missed by family and friends
