Mabel Clair

Mabel Clair, 84, of Rhodes,, Iowa passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time at the funeral home. Mabel Ruth Coate was born on November 11, 1927 in Janesboro, Indiana; she was the daughter of Sylvester Coate and Helen (Whistler) Coate. She attended school at Collins Community School district graduating with the class of 1946. Mabel then attended Beauty school in Des Moines. Mabel was united in marriage to Charles Sager in 1946, Charles passed in1965. Mabel then was united in marriage to James Clair. She had been a beautician and worked out of her home. Mabel had been a member of United Methodist Church in Rhodes, Iowa. Mabel loved to play cards, enjoyed cooking and going fishing and she always looked forward to the winters in Florida. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Wanita James of Rockport , Texas, Jo Ellen Clair of Rhodes, her grandchildren; Nancy Schaffer, Candy Bell, Steve Dhabalt, Lori Schreckenbach, Tony Holdefer, and Charles Schreckenbach, 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Myrtle Polley. In death Mabel rejoins her parents, her husbands; Charles Sager and James Clair and a daughter Anita Dhabalt and her siblings, William, Jack, Cecil, Russell, Rachel, Frieda, Mary, and Elsie.
