Mabel Moody

Mabel Moody, 87, died early Sunday morning, November 28, at the Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral services for Mabel will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, December 2, at the First United Presbyterian Church in State Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, December 1, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown located at 1209 Iowa Avenue West. She was raised in State Center and attended the State Center School System. Mabel was united in marriage to Ralph Moody on July 29, 1940 in Princeton, Missouri. To this union three children were born; Virginia, LaDonna and Dale. Throughout her lifetime and in addition to raising her children and caring for her family, Mabel worked for over thirty-five years at Fisher Controls in Marshalltown. She retired in 1983. During her retirement years Mabel enjoyed spending time with her family, golfing at the Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center and spending her winter months at Sun City, Arizona. She also enjoyed her familys pet pommerainians and caring for them. Mabel was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in State Center and the Fisher Controls Retirement Group.Mabel is survived by her daughters Virginia (Bill) Senter of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and LaDonna (Mike) Banks of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her son Dale (Sandy) Moody of Lawrenceville, Georgia, her sisters: Velma Arnold of Appleton, Wisconsin, Ruth (Bill) Davis of Albion, Iowa, and Cecile (Don) Nelson of Napa Valley, California, her brother Carroll (Delores) Huff of Coal Valley, Illinois, her four grandchildren: Tamara Senter, Scott Moody, Phil Moody and Tim Moody, her five great-grandchildren: Nathan Moody, Connor Moody, McCall Moody, Kate Moody and Maxwell Moody and several nieces and nephews.Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Hattie and her two sisters: Doris Davis and Dorothy Muench.
