Madeline Louise McNair, 91, of Liscomb, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad. Funeral services for Madeline will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Liscomb Church of Christ in Liscomb. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Burial will be held at a later date. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Madeline and her family. Madeline Graves was born on February 12, 1924 in Lancaster, Missouri to James Everett and Martha Mattie Louisa Gosser Graves. Madeline attended country school in Lancaster then later received her teachers certificate at high school in Moulton, Iowa. On August 7, 1946, Madeline was united in marriage to Paul J McNair in Centerville, Iowa. They resided in Moulton, Centerville and Melbourne before calling Liscomb home. Madeline was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ, Rebekkah Lodge, 50 year member of the Liscomb Hobby Club, a 4H Leader and Sunday school teacher. Madeline enjoyed cooking her chicken and noodles, breads and baked apples. She also enjoyed her cow collection, china painting, quilting and crocheting and needle work. Above everything, family was the most important thing to her. Madeline is survived by her children: Marty Whitmore of West Des Moines, John (Julie) McNair of Conrad and Sharon (LeRoy) Stewart of Liscomb. Grandchildren: Lavonne Whitmore, Chad (Cheryl) Whitmore, Kari (Rick) Wolcott, Jami (Dave) Willett, John (Kate) McNair Jr, Jaci (Brad) Green, Jodi (Dustin) Lenz, Theresa (Jeremy) McManus, Shawn Stewart and Brett (April) Stewart. Twenty five great grandchildren. Brother: James (Vicki) Graves Jr of Arkansas and a sister in law Juanita McNair of Moravia. Madeline is preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents James and Mattie, brother J.D. Graves, sister Wilda Mae Johnson and a sister in youth Viva Graves.
