Manuel Guillen

Manuel Guillen, 14, of Marshalltown, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Funeral services for Manuel will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation for Manuel will be held from 5:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home.The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Manuel and his family. Manuel was born March 8, 1999, in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of Edgardo and Zoila M. (Rivera) Guillen. He and his family lived in Perry, Iowa, until Manuel was five years old at which time they moved to Marshalltown. Manuel was currently in the eighth grade at Miller Middle School. Manuel loved to go fishing. Manuel enjoyed dancing, spending time with his friends, exercising and playing his Sony Playstation against friends all over the world. Manuel is survived by his parents Edgardo and Zoila, his siblings: Angel L. Guillen of Marshalltown, Marina M. Guillen and Cesar D. Guillen of El Salvador, Jose F. Guillen, Jonathan E. Guillen, Angela L. Guillen and Erik E. Guillen all of Perry, Iowa, his grandmother Marina Rivera of Marshalltown and his grandfather Marcelino Granado of Marshalltown, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Manuel was preceded in death by his cousin Juana Maritza Rivera.
