Maradean was born on April 19th, 1934 in Marshalltown, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Glenn (Shedenhelm) Yetley. She graduated from Green Mountain high school and traveled to Chicago to study kitchen design. On January 2nd, 1955, Maradean married Dale Egger at the Gladbrook Chapel Church in Rural Gladbrook, IA. Maradean was married to Dale for 59 years. Dale and Maradean farmed in rural Garwin through 1965, moving to Marshalltown in January of 1966. Maradean had the privilege of working for her husband at Egger’s Brothers DX until its closure in 1977. Following a move to Texas in 1978, Maradean worked for Texas Water Resources from 1979-1982. After 12 years in Texas, they moved back to Marshalltown where Maradean became an active member of her community and spent many hours volunteering at Hope United Methodist Church. She was especially fond of sharing her passions in crafting and quilting, as well as gardening, and seed collecting, growing many beautiful gardens over the years. She will always be remembered for her love of community and family, and her great excitement for the college basketball season!
Left to cherish her memory is her children: son, Reed (Elery) Egger of Baxter, IA and daughter, Kayle (Chris) Debrecht of Plano, TX; and grandchildren: Kristina, Austin (Aly), Dakota (Hannah) Egger, and Sebra Debrecht.
Maradean is preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her son Keith, sister Myrene Appelgate and her parents, Lawrence and Mary Glenn.
