Marcee Wright

Marcee Wright, age 65 of Gladbrook, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, surrounded by her family at Westbrook Acres. 

Born Marcee Dee Neff on April 18, 1961, in Chico, California, the daughter of Jim and Ella Mae (Tate) Neff. Marcee worked at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook for the last 15 years, and considered her coworkers her second family.

Marcee was dedicated and hard working in all aspects of her life. Marcee’s family and grandchildren were her top priority. She loved going on motorcycle rides with Mike, gardening veggies outside, and tending to house plants inside. Marcee enjoyed antiquing, attending auctions, and collecting geodes. Often you would find Marcee scrolling on Facebook on her phone, sending snapchats to family and friends, or playing games, and occasionally she would make a trip to the casino to play the slot machines. 

Marcee is reunited in death with her mother, Ella Mae McTurk; and stepfather, Gavin McTurk. Left to cherish her memory are her longtime boyfriend of 33 years, Mike Baumeier; her children: Bob Wright (Danielle Jardee), Tom (Carrie) Wright, Bill Wright, Rick Wright (Amanda Scovill), and April Burg; and grandchildren: London, Ethan, Remi, Emersyn, and Anderson. She is also survived by her siblings: Tana, Lacey, Audra, and Bart. 

Per Marcee’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Marcee’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to CompassusHospice.
