Marcia Mull

Marcia “GiGi” Mull, age 79, of Aplington, Iowa, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Maple Manor Village, surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service honoring Marcia’s life has been scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026, starting at 10:00 A.M. at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Prescott will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to join for a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service at the Church of Christ. Born on June 4, 1947, in Marshalltown, Iowa, Marcia Rae Randall was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Maxine (Collins) Randall. She grew up in the LDF community and proudly graduated with the class of 1966. On July 22, 1977, she married the love of her life, Claude “Butch” Mull, and together they raised their two beloved daughters. Marcia began her working life with dedication and pride, contributing her talents to several companies over the years. She worked 12 years at Hy‑Vee, another 12 years at Golden Corral, and then 8 years at Heartland Steak Buffet, forming many lasting connections along the way. Marcia was a devoted member of the Church of Christ on South Center Street in Marshalltown. She also volunteered for many educational events for the Marshall County conservation board. Marcia found joy in crafting, tending her garden, and baking treats for the holidays. Some of her family’s favorite stories are of Marcia baking cookies with the girls while the men headed out deer hunting. She delighted in sharing her baking, cooking, and gardening wisdom with those she loved. Marcia also had a playful affection for anything and everything related to frogs, and she will be remembered for her stubborn but deeply loving spirit.

Marcia is survived by her two daughters: Ralea (Todd) Rainey of Wisconsin and Hope (Rex) Tomkins of Parkersburg, IA.; her five grandchildren: Brittany (Zach) Zimpfer, Kayne Rainey, TJ Rainey, Desiree (Michael) Walczak and Blake Tomkins; her five great- grandchildren: Maximilian, Sebastian, Harrison, Cora, and Brea; her brother Scott (Sally) Randall of Marshalltown; her dear friend, Elaine Crouse of Dillon, IA.; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Raymond and Maxine; her brother Charles “Chuck” Randall; her sister Sue Sellman; her cousin Barb Halverson; and her infant brother Raymond.
