Margie Andrews

Margaret “Margie” Andrews, 82, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away on April 12, 2024 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar, Rapids, Iowa surrounded by her family.

Services for Margie will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation. Margaret Jean Ralf was born November 21, 1941 to Marion and Margaret (Haack) Ralf in Marshalltown, Iowa. She attended school in Marshalltown, Iowa and later graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1959.

On November 28, 1959, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Clarence “Andy” Andrews in Marshalltown, Iowa. Together they built a home and a family raising their four children, Sue, Scott, Sally and Sara. Margie loved her family and made sure that they were always fully taken care of. She became a dedicated homemaker who loved to cook different recipes to share with her family and friends. In her younger years, Margie partook in bowling leagues and was active within the PTA at her kid’s schools. She was well known by many people in the Marshalltown community as a sample lady at Hy-Vee. She was known to be very social with people and made the most out of life despite her challenges with her vision in her later years.

She is survived by her children, Sue (Paul) Lillibridge of Texas, Sally (John) Jenkins of Illinois and Sara (Ken) Edel of North Carolina and her daughter-in-law Maria Andrews of Ankeny; her grandchildren, Megan (Nick) Shelburne, Alex (Lindsay) Lillibridge and Macy (Ryan) Davis, Mallory (Brady) Harmon and Sam Andrews, Eric (Bri) Jenkins and Kyle Jenkins, and Matt and Margaret Ann Edel; her four great-grandchildren; her sister, Jo Ann (Bill) Decker of Marshalltown, Iowa and step-brother, Mark (Laurel) Fleming of Des Moines, Iowa; her many nieces and nephews; and her cousin Phyllis Fistler of Marshalltown.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Andy Andrews; her son, Scott Andrews; and her parents, Marion (Laura) Ralf and Margaret (Dwight) Plate.
