Margaret Grommet, 58, of Marshalltown, died Thursday, April 17th, at her home while in the loving care of her family and the Iowa River Hospice. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, at St. Marys Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Miller officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday with a 7:00 p.m. vigil service. Mitchell Family Funeral Home 641-844-1234. Born Margaret Mary Elizabeth Wedgwood on October 20th, 1949, in Marshalltown, she was the daughter of Wayne Richard and Agnes Anna (Dankbar) Wedgwood. She received her education in the area of her birth. On September 3rd, 1977, at the Bethel Grove Church, she was united in marriage to Philip Grommet. They resided in Marshalltown where she was employed at Woodbury School in the lunch program from 1983 to 1988 and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters, Moose Lodge Chapter #71, Collison Golf Buddies, Heartland Dart League and enjoyed bowling and softball. Left to cherish her memory is Philip #9, her loving husband of 30 years, son Philip #10 and his fianc Veronica Balong, grandson William Alexander Grommet, sisters Linda Bennett of Martell, Iowa, Carla (David) McWilliams of Marshalltown, brother David Wedgwood of Britt, Iowa, father-in-law Philip #8 (Ruth) Grommet of Lakewood, CO., sister-in-law Anna Marie (Rick) Williams of Marshalltown, brother-in-law Mark (Connie) Grommet of Des Moines, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, son Jerry, mother-in-law Eva Grommet and brother-in-law Andrew Grommet.
