Margaret (Mrs. Max) Levis, 80, of Marshalltown, died late Saturday night, June 13th, while in care of the Grandview Heights, her loving family and the Iowa River Hospice. Her family wishes to thank the Grandview Heights and Iowa River Hospice for becoming adopted families to Margaret. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 16th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Ph 641-844-1234. Born Margaret Mary Schweinebart on August 6th, 1928, in Baxter, Iowa, she was the daughter of William Fredrick and Helen Amanda (Breer) Schweinebart. She graduated from the Baxter High Schools Class of 1948. On April 9th, 1952, she was united in marriage to Max Trey Levis in Moline, Illinois. They made their homes in Baxter, Marshalltown and Apache Junction, AZ. Mrs. Levis was employed at Fisher Governor and the Iowa Veterans home. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader and enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning and being with her grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are Max, her loving husband of 57 years, her children: Donna Jane (Jim) Orr of Marshalltown, Lea Dean Levis of Ft. Dodge, Bruce Allen (Anita) Levis and Sharon (Jeff) McMurray all of Marshalltown; grandchildren- Victoria Kay Afuya, Adam Daniel Levis and Ryan Matthew Levis all of Marshalltown, James Robert Chelf of Georgia and William Trey Levis of Conrad; her great-grandchildren- Blake Mike Wright, Alliyah NicoleAfuya all of Marshalltown, Deven Jaden Levis and Ayden Jacob Levis of State Center, as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. In death she has rejoined her parents, brothers Albert Henry, Edward William, Rinehart Adolph and Earl Max Schweinebart, son Max Trey Levis, Jr. and great-grandson Keegan Daniel Levis.
